FIRST LADY DR LORDINA DRAMANI MAHAMA, LAUDS THE GROWING BILATERAL AND DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN GHANA AND CHINA.




First Lady Dr Lordina Dramani Mahama, has lauded the growing bilateral and diplomatic relations between Ghana and the Peoples Republic of China. Mrs. Mahama said ”China and Ghana have collaborated closely to promote peace and development in Africa and the world at large as well as continuing to speak with one voice on international matter.” Mrs. Mahama was speaking after she received 20 Singer sewing machines from the Chinese government.

 The Presentation which was done by the by the Chinese Ambassador, Madam Sun Baohong was to support the work of Lordina Foundation. The foundation has added skill development to its portfolio and this donation will go a long way to support girls in the vocational skills training and development sector. Only recently, the First Lady, who is the National President of the Lordina Foundation, presented to the Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association; 30 boxes of standing hair dryers, 10 pieces of hand dryers, 20 pieces of tonging equipment, 30 work trollers, 10 foot massagers, and 20 sterilization boxes.

Presenting the sewing machines,the Chinese Ambassador expressed excitement about the work of the Lordina Foundation and commended the First Lady for her tireless efforts at promoting and supporting vocational skills development in the country.

Meanwhile, the Lordina Foundation and the Chinese Ambassador have also collaborated to providing scholarships and training opportunities to Ghanaian students to study in China. Ghana is one of the first sub-Saharan African countries to establish diplomatic ties with China. The two countries have since enjoyed special social and traditional friendship. The friendship between Chairman Mao Zedong, Premier Zhou Enlai and Dr Kwame Nkrumah is well known globally.
