25% REDUCTION IN AVIATION FUEL PRICES TAKES EFFECT

The National Petroleum Authority has announced a reduction of 25% in the price of aviation fuel effective Wednesday 3rd August 2016.

A statement signed by Chief Executive of NPA, Moses Asaga said “following the announcement by the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E John Mahama of a 20% reduction in the price of Aviation fuel (Aviation Turbine Kerosene, ATK), The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) after a detailed analysis, hereby announces a reduction of 25% in the price of aviation fuel effective Wednesday 3rd August 2016”.

The statement noted that the reduction is expected to make Ghana more competitive and the country with the second lowest priced aviation fuel in the West African sub-region.

“The NPA is thereby hopeful that the airlines will let this reduction reflect in airfares especially domestic airfares which has seen increment in recent times” the statement urges.
